Details about this practice:
Embodied Yoga is an inquiry based, Body
Mind Centering inspired
yoga practice. Embryological, anatomical, and developmental principles will be
introduced and applied to asana to cultivate more ease, understanding and
possibility. With an underlying focus, class will begin with a quiet, yielding
practice into slow, mindful floor work as we prepare the body for quadruped and
standing postures. This practice is easeful and dynamic, offering a full range
of movement from supine and prone shapes, to standing, sitting, forward folding
and back bending. Through skillful attending and deep listening, students are
given the space and supportive guidance to enter into a yoga practice that is
pleasurable, healing, and transformative. *Modifications and any necessary
propping will be available to help meet individual needs.

About Body Mind Centering®
"Body Mind Centering® (BMCSM) is an integrated and embodied approach to
movement, the body and consciousness. Developed by Bonnie
Bainbridge Cohen, it is an experiential study based on the embodiment
and application of anatomical, physiological, psychophysical and
developmental principles, utilizing movement, touch, voice and mind.
Its uniqueness lies in the specificity with which each of the body
systems can be personally embodied and integrated, the fundamental
groundwork of developmental re-patterning and the utilization of a
body-based language to describe movement and body-mind relationships." -
