MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION   8 week sessions

There is no moment like now to be present.

Mindfulness is the practice of opening up to the moment...this moment...allowing us to experience life in a deeper and more meaningful way.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week class designed to teach basic skills of how to integrate mindfulness into our daily lives. You will learn how to more effectively deal with physical, emotional or psychological stress and suffering. The practice of Mindfulness offers an opportunity to learn how to re-establish balance in our lives and re-connect with the lost sense of our well-being. We begin to feel less reactive in difficult situations, better able to let go of the pain or stress we formerly held on to and enhance a sense of joy and purpose in our lives.

This 8-week class is based on the internationally renowned and research based program designed over 30 years ago at The University of Massachusetts, School of Medicine by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD. It is recognized today as an essential adjunct to traditional medicine and taught around the globe in a variety of medical, academic and clinical settings.

People participate in this class for such reasons as:

stress due to family, work, health, or living in uncertain times

chronic pain or illness (diabetes, MS, high blood pressure, etc.)

anxiety and panic disorders or clinical depression
