I have been a somatic movement educator, Soma Yoga, Hatha Yoga & meditation teacher and dancer in Seattle for over thirty years. For 30 years I have enjoyed supporting students in finding freedom in mind, motion and creative courageous living through somatics, mindfulness meditation, Soma Yoga, SomaDance and ArtWorks! Meditation. After completing my BA in Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State University and living overseas for 9 months, I made Seattle my home.

My teaching draws strongly from my studies, trainings and teaching in meditation practices within the Zen and Tibetan Buddhist traditions, Classical Hatha Yoga, dance, Skinner Releasing, Open Source Forms, Alexander Technique, Somatic Unwinding, BioSomatics, Hanna Somatics, the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais, developmental movement, Embodied Anatomy, Body Mind Centering, BrainDance, QiGong, Acutonics, Reiki and classical voice training. I began developing Soma Yoga in 1994, founded Soma Yoga in 1998 and opened Soma Yoga & Dance Studio in 2003.

My dance background includes  Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Afro-Brazilian, Contemporary African, West African, Dance Improvisation, Contact Improvisation, Low-flying Trapeze Dance, Bungee Dancing, WaterDance, Skinner Releasing & Open Source Forms and Salsa. In addition to Soma Yoga, I have developed Simple Somatic Self Care, SomaDance, Sounding the Body, ArtWorks! Meditation, WaterSomatics & Dance, WaterSomaYoga, Move!, Improvisational Somatics, Moving Medicine, SomaYogaDance, Toolkit for Teens & Pre-Teens, Somatics for Seniors and Somatic Walking Re-Education.
